Maddy took my last senior session of 2018, and we got lucky with the fall colors and temperatures. It was chilly, but definitely nice enough for making portraits. Maddy is a smarty-pants mathlete who has a bright future. She’s got a big heart, contagious smile, and sees the glass always half full.
I love professional headshots in natural light. While studio lighted portraits have their place, I definitely feel that natural light portraits are more welcoming and true to the subject. For the viewer, perhaps they feel more of a connection to the person because of that.
In this case Carolyn is a practicing mental health professional and this kind of portrait gives a more approachable feel. And, what about that light! Yet another reason I love shooting in natural light!
Neve’s session was a perfect mix of warmth and light. I love her determination and playful attitude. We did her senior portraits on the historic Woodstock, and at a Bull Valley farm. She’s my first senior from Belvidere High School.
