In late December I did a lifestyle stock shoot at the Trax Depot Cafe in Woodstock, IL to add some business/casual and couple/relationships to my portfolio. It was a tight space to work in, but we had a great time shooting and working anyway and came away with some great photos. I’ll be going back there soon to do some commercial photos for the business. If you’ve never been to the Trax Depot in either Crystal Lake or Woodstock, stop by and try ’em out!
Thanks to Lee Burnette, owner of the Trax Depot and Cafe for allowing us to shoot there, and thanks to the models, David Crago and Constance Cleland.
Here are a few images from the shoot:
Cute photos! I’ll have to stop by for coffee sometime.
Im so glad these worked for you.. Great shots… Lee
Ryan… Looks like your new ‘Point N Shoot’ works pretty well! And, to all who don’t know that I’m just kidding, his camera is really a beautiful full frame Canon. Nice work, Ryan. Will make a point to stop by and try a good cup of coffee and to see what has changed in the Woodstock train station (the one John Candy was at in his movie called Planes, Trains, and…). I remodeled it from a train station to the first coffee shop back in the 1990’s.
[…] Tools One of my main tools for recording ideas is my pocket-sized Moleskine journal. It’s my notebook, sketchbook and brain-dump hopper. I jot ideas for images I want to shoot in sentence form, sketch out lighting diagrams and record plans for shoots I know I’m going to do. I don’t claim to be a great sketch artist, my sketches remove all doubt, but I do it for the sake of recording and planning, not art. (Click here to see the photo that resulted from the sketch at the top of this post.) […]
[…] recently shot some studio portraits for one of the models from the coffee shop shoot. Dave needed some portrait for his portfolio, some plain shots on black and white backgrounds. […]
Great coffee site – indeed there
is nothing that can replace a
freshed brewed Trax Depot coffee cup!
