Lifestyle Shoot | Trax Depot Cafe

In late December I did a lifestyle stock shoot at the Trax Depot Cafe in Woodstock, IL to add some business/casual and couple/relationships to my portfolio. It was a tight space to work in, but we had a great time shooting and working anyway and came away with some great photos. I’ll be going back there soon to do some commercial photos for the business. If you’ve never been to the Trax Depot in either Crystal Lake or Woodstock, stop by and try ’em out!

Looking Back at 2009

2009 was an incredible year—photographically and personally. I had the pleasure of working with some of the coolest kids, couples, models and photographers to make beautiful images and memories. It’s so gratifying to help preserve memories and mark significant milestones for the people I shoot for. Thank you all for allowing me to document special moments and glimpses of your lives.

To ring in the new year, here are a few highlights that made 2009 so much fun:

2009 Highlights

On the personal side, 2009 was a year full of firsts, memorable experiences and incredible blessings. Here are just a few highlights:

My little boy was born (coolest thing in all my years, not just 2009)
Completed my master’s degree in creative writing
Got a motorcycle
Took the family to Nashville
Took part in a huge stock photo shoot in Nashville where I met and worked with many very talented models and photographers

Thanks to all my clients, models, vendors, friends and family for an outstanding 2009. I’m looking forward to an exciting 2010 filled with more shooting and publishing opportunities!

Stock Shoot—InhausLypse: Nashville, TN

At the end of October I went to Nashville, Tennessee for a stock photo shoot. While I shoot exclusively for iStockphoto and Getty Images, this shoot was specifically for iStockphoto.

The shoot was an event called InhausLypse and included 30 models and 10 photographers shooting for iStock in four locations around Nashville. It was an incredible experience working alongside so many talented photographers and models. I walked away with a ton of excellent photos and even got to spend an extra day in Nashville to vacation with my wife and baby boy.
