Meet Celeste, the fifth child and fourth girl in her family. And while we’re talking about numbers, she’s also the second newborn baby girl I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. For some reason most of my newborn sessions have been boys. Celeste’s parents received a gift certificate for a Brand New session from their church family—what a great way to congratulate a family on their new arrival!

Celeste slept through her entire shoot. Having four other siblings around means she sleeps through just about anything and everything, and that sure helped us out! The session was smooth sailing for this little girl and we even got to incorporate lots of personal family items that make these images more meaningful for the parents. I love when we get to do that. Enjoy!

Yay, another Brand New baby boy—welcome Colin! Colin’s mom received Brand New newborn session as a gift from her friends at work. I love it when friends give such thoughtful gifts!

With the exception of a few fussy moments (brief moments), this little guy slept like a rock the entire session. He was easy to pose and even managed to give us a few unintentional smiles—love it when that happens 🙂 I think some of my favorites from this session are the black and whites. There’s just something so timeless and classic about the way black and white photos evoke emotion.

Every time I have the pleasure of photographing a newborn I can’t help but notice how quickly my youngest is growing by comparison. Time truly flies in the first 6 months, so to all those new parents out there, enjoy these newborn moments no matter how sleep deprived you are!
