Meet Emily, one of my 2012 senior reps at Cary-Grove High School. As has been the story with all but one rep this year, we got rained out a few times before finally scheduling Emily’s shoot.

Emily started her day at Studio 10 Salon in Woodstock where she had her hair cut and styled as a perk of being a senior rep. When she was finished, we started her session on the Woodstock square and fought some extremely gusty winds, which kind of put a damper on just walking out of a salon. But Emily took it stride and we made some fabulous portraits anyway! We even discovered a few new areas that I’ve never shot at on the square.

By the end of the day the wind was dying down and we had some beautiful soft setting sun to make our final portraits. Another excellent rep session wrapped!

Meet Cailyn, my second 2012 senior rep at Johnsburg high school. (My other Johnsburg rep is Lucas Pritts.) After several cancellations, thanks to our bi-polar spring season, we finally made it out to a few locations and made some excellent senior portraits. We shot at McHenry Dam, Moraine Hills State Park and an old farm owned by one of Cailyn’s mom’s friends.

Cailyn was a lot of fun to work with and she brough lots of creative ideas to the table, plus, she was game to try anything. Unfortunately we had more creative shoot ideas than time so we only got to do a few. But they were awesome. I love the lantern in the woods. Not your standard senior portraits, but I try not to shoot standard stuff 🙂 I love it when my seniors are excited about their shoots and are the ones asking me if we can do something crazy and fun!
