I had the pleasure of photographing Woodstock North High School’s pre-prom preparations as students, family and friends gathered before heading out for an evening of dinner and dancing.

Calling class of 2013 seniors!

Ryan Klos Photography is looking for class of 2013 Senior Models! If you’ll be graduating in 2013, this is a great opportunity to get your senior portraits done for free. All you need to do is share your experience and tell others about Ryan Klos Photography.

Here’s how it works. We’ll start with a free outdoor mini-session for your preliminary portraits. This will be a quick session to get you started—plan for a few different poses at one designated location.

Once the photos from your mini-session are processed, you can post them on Facebook and share with your friends so you can tell them about Ryan Klos Photography. Get at least one of your friends to book a session and then you’re eligible for your free Super Senior session—two hours of shooting!

Once your first referral pays for their session in full, we’ll start planning your Super Senior session with multiple outfits and your choice of multiple locations.

I’m looking for senior models from all local schools—Woodstock, Woodstock North, Marian Central, Crystal Lake Central, Crystal Lake South, McHenry East Campus, McHenry West Campus, Johnsburg, Prairie Ridge, Huntley, Cary-Grove, Richmond-Burton, Alden-Hebron and Jacobs.

2012 Woodstock North Senior | Christian Pigott

Christian is about 5 feet taller than me and so it’s no wonder he plays basketball at Woodstock North high school. The guy can dunk for goodness sake! And that made for some really cool portraits during his senior session. We had a blast doing the basketball set, but I doubt he planned on working that hard—at least it was nice out!

We also got to incorporate Christian’s other interests by getting out his motocross gear and quad. I always love guys’ portraits because they tend to be a little grungy and the lighting can be a little more harsh. The result is unique senior portraits that Christian nor his parents will soon forget!

Graduation is only a few weeks away for Christian, so congratulations and best of luck in your future endeavors!

Pre-High School Portraits | Sarah

If you’ve followed my work for any length of time, you know I prefer doing my portrait sessions outdoors. But I occasionally shoot studio portraits because of weather issues or specific requests. I did Sarah’s portraits just before she started high school—another important milestone for adolescents. In a few years I’ll probably do her senior portraits. It’ll be fun to see the changes over 4 years as she matures into a beautiful young woman! Hope you’re enjoying high school, Sarah!

Smash-Cake Session | Jacob

For Jacob’s first birthday we set up a smash-cake session and he was pretty excited once he got to dig his hands in. At first he didn’t know what to do, but once he tasted the sugary frosting he was all about it! More about the frosting than the cake, but at least he sampled a few bites.

Smash-cake sessions are something new that I’m offering for first-year birthdays. Each session will include the cake, portrait session and lots of laughs! I’m still finalizing pricing, and I’ll post it to the pricing page soon. Let me know if there’s interest in these sessions and don’t hesitate to spread the word!
