Meet Katie, a recent transplant from Portland. She and her family moved here nearly a year ago and are still struggling to adjust to the crazy midwest weather. Aren’t we all? There’s no predicting anything here. However, I predicted a killer senior portrait session with the gorgeous weather we lucked out with on her shoot!
Katie’s senior session was a lot of fun. We started on the Woodstock square where we battled fierce winds and plenty of spectators, then ended at a Bull Valley farm where the winds were hardly noticeable. Being a spring shoot, we had lots of blossoming trees and warm colors to work with. Needless to say, Katie rocked this session! See for yourself.
Don’t forget, senior portrait season is in full swing! Now is the time for 2014 grads to schedule your summer senior sessions.

Attention class of 2014 seniors
Ryan Klos Photography is looking for class of 2014 Senior Models! If you’ll be graduating in 2014, this is a great opportunity to get your senior portraits done for free. All you need to do in exchange is share your senior portrait experience and tell others about Ryan Klos Photography.
What does it mean to be a senior model?
Being a senior model means you get your senior portraits done for free. In exchange for the free portrait session you agree to spread the word about Ryan Klos Photography’s senior portrait work to all your friends and classmates. Tell people at work, everyone at football games, friends at youth group—wherever you go, pass out your model card and spread the word.
What does it take to be a senior model?
I’m looking for seniors who are approachable, positive, outgoing, have a strong sense of style, enjoy being in the spotlight and are willing to talk up their experience. You should be involved in extracurricular activities, have a large network of friends (both on social media and in real life), and be passionate about good photography.
Why be a model?
- Free mini-session for your preliminary portraits
- Free Back Stage 2-hour session (after first referral)
- Senior models receive 10% off all orders
- $20 print credit for each additional senior you refer who completes a session
- Free photos to use on Facebook
- Refer 10 or more seniors and receive $200 cash
Here’s how it works
We’ll start with a complimentary outdoor mini-session for your preliminary portraits. This will be a quick session to get you started—plan for one outfit at one designated location.
Once the photos from your mini-session are processed, we’ll post them on Facebook so you can share with your friends and tell them about Ryan Klos Photography. Get at least one of your friends or classmates to book (and pay for) a session and you’re eligible for your free Back Stage session—two hours of shooting at multiple locations!
Looking for models from all local schools
I’m looking for senior models from all local schools—Woodstock, Woodstock North, Marian Central, Crystal Lake Central, Crystal Lake South, McHenry East Campus, McHenry West Campus, Johnsburg, Prairie Ridge, Huntley, Cary-Grove, Richmond-Burton, Alden-Hebron and Jacobs.

Elizabeth’s Super Senior session took place at two locations: a farm in Bull Valley, and at Moraine Hills State Park. While the most colorful leaves of the season had come and gone by the time we shot, we still made the best of the remaining color and warm autumn lighting. Elizabeth was a blast to work with and had a great personality that matched her sunshine smile.

Dana attends the same high school I did, though I was there almost 15 years prior. She rocked her session way better than I would have back in the day, that’s for sure. Senior portraits have come a long way since I attended. At any rate, Dana’s session was absolutely awesome—brilliant fall colors, perfect temperature and soft warm light. Add a beautiful model like Dana and how can you go wrong?
We shot at Moraine Hills State Park at the peak of the fall colors and made some outstanding portraits! Dana is mom model at McHenry West and has already sent her first referral to me. That means she’s got a 2-hour Super Senior session coming up in the spring. Can’t wait!
Attention McHenry West and East seniors: mention Dana’s name when booking your session and take 10% off your 2013 senior portrait session!

Meet Alex, my 2013 model from Johnsburg High School. We did Alex’s first session in the setting sun at Glacial Park and made some gorgeous portraits. We had a fun shoot with plenty of laughter and lots of fun.
Alex has already had her first referral so this session is one of two complimentary sessions that she gets. We’ll be doing her second session—the Super Senior session—in the spring. Spring and fall sessions are my favorite so she’ll get the best of both worlds!
Attention Johnsburg seniors: mention Alex’s name when booking your session and take 10% off your 2013 senior portrait session!
